About this product
- Hydrogen (H2) is a flammable, colorless, odorless, compressed gas at high pressure.
Product Attributes
CGA Connection
• CGA 350Gas Grade
• Industrial
Features
- Airgas operates its own dedicated blending facilities as well as maintains a national network of blending technology to ensure accurate, consistent production.
Applications
- Industrial grade Hydrogen is commonly used in mixtures for arc and plasma welding of stainless steels in the metal fabrication process and for metal heat treatment in vehicles.
- In the Automotive industry, Hydrogen is an essential vector to decarbonization, by using electric vehicles fed by a fuel cell that transforms hydrogen into electricity.
- Hydrogen is used for the synthesis of ammonia and other amines (e.g. aniline) or alkanes (by hydrogenation of alkenes). In combination with carbon monoxide in so-called synthesis gas, hydrogen is used for methanol and synthetic fuel production.
- Hydrogen plays a vital role in oil and gas refining by removing sulfur from petroleum products through hydrodesulfurization. This process is crucial for lowering sulfur dioxide emissions during fuel combustion, thereby mitigating acid rain.
- Hydrogen is used in heat treatment (oxy-hydrogen flame) of hollow glass and optic fibers pre-forms.
Safety
- Always use in accordance with the Safety Data Sheet (SDS)
- Cylinder must be stored and used in an upright, secured position in a well-ventilated or monitored area.
- Always follow local fire code requirements when storing gas cylinders.
- Major hazards: Fire (extremely flammable)
